AUTOMATIC NOZZLES APPLY A SAFE TAN IN 9 SECONDS
Responding to public concerns about possible over-exposure to ultra-violet radiation through excessive use of sunbeds, the tanning business is moving rapidly to offer safe UV-free alternatives in the form of artificial tans. The tanning agent can be applied by hand, by airbrush or (most recently) by multiple spray nozzles in the privacy of a self-operated tanning booth.
Latest automatic spray tanning booth to be launched on the market is the high-performance Fake It!! UVF 100, designed and built by British engineering group Condor Cobra. Fully automated, the new booth offers clients a 100% UV-free tan in 9 seconds, while allowing salon owners to fine-tune the spray operation to the wishes of their clientele. In developing it, the manufacturers called on the expertise of Spraying Systems Limited to advise on nozzle selection and installation planning.
Burnley-based Condor Cobra provides equipment and maintenance services to many sports and leisure industry clients. Unusually for an engineering concern, the group also runs its own chain of nine Tanning Studios. With dual experience as engineers and salon operators the firm is uniquely qualified to satisfy the needs of salon owners as they equip themselves for the rapidly rising market in UV-free tanning.
The Fake It!! tanning booth was developed over the course of a year and has been field-tested in Condor Cobra's own studios. Key components are the twelve automatic air-assisted Spraying Systems nozzles, recessed at three levels in the stainless steel internal walls, to deliver tanning solution in a finely atomised, even spray to all body areas. The nozzles are precision devices - each one is in effect a miniature drip-free spray gun, controllable as to liquid volume and droplet size, and incorporating its own air-operated cylinder so that the spray starts and shuts off instantaneously on signal.
The Condor Cobra booth can be fine tuned at each level - salon management can adjust the sprays to give less or more tanning effect independently on face, body and legs. The system will deliver reliably consistent performance every time the booth is used.
Tanning is a one-button operation, initiating an automatic cycle. Cabin washdown and internal air change are automatic too, set off by a second push button on the outside of the booth.
